SWOriginal ha reso disponibile su deviantart un nuovo tema minimale, molto semplice e sobrio, realizzato modificando il tema Radiance.

Il sorgente del tema lo trovate qui:

Per poterlo utilizzare dovete aver installato in precedenza il BURG. Per l’installazione del BURG potete fare riferimento a questa guida.

Una volta installato il BURG e scaricato il pacchetto relativo al tema, non vi resta che estrarre il pacchetto tar.gz nella directory /boot/burg/themes e poi eseguire:

sudo update-burg

Poi eseguite:

sudo burg-emu

Nella schermata di emulazione del BURG premete ‘t‘ e poi selezionate dal menù il tema Dark_Shine. In questo modo potete controllare che tutto funzioni alla perfezione senza rischiare di avere brutte sorprese al riavvio.

Se riuscite a realizzare altri temi per il BURG originali proponeteli e verranno pubblicati su questo sito.

Questo tema sarà integrato nella prossima versione del burg-manager.

installation guide

Today 9 july 2010 we have released version 0.2.0 of Burg-manager. It has been created by myself Ingalex in cooperation with Canopus0003 and Tux10, this version of the Burg-manager has a long series of innovations. We have fixed some bugs that we found, and we have added new features, also we have improved some existing functionalities . Among the notable changes we can mention:

• recognition of hard drives available on which to install Burg
• recognition of available hard disk where you can restore the Grub2
• ability to set the operating system to boot as default
• improved gallery with much themes to install from this site
• added a new tab to set advanced parameters such as:
  • GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_RECOVERY
  • GRUB_CMD_LINUX_DEFAULT
  • GRUB_SAVEDEFAULT
  • GRUB_LINUX16
  • GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_UUID
  • GRUB_FOLD
• possibility to set administrator and user password for Burg

Also others localizations for different languages has been added:

• portuguese-Brasil
• portoghese-Portugual
• french
• english
• romanian
• spanish
• swedish
• german

In this regard I take this opportunity to thank all those who have made the various localization:

Currently Buc doesn’t  support UTF-8, so we found several problems inserting some locations such as traditional Chinese and others.

If the Burg-manager has not yet been translated into your language and you want to collaborate to translation please contact me.

In addition I would remind you that we are starting to develop a Burg-manager porting with gambas. In that regard, greater collaboration is required. If you are able to program with gambas consider the possibility of participating actively in this project.

Oggi 9 luglio 2010 abbiamo rilasciato la versione 0.2.0 del Burg-manager. Realizzata da me medesimo Ingalex in collaborazione con Canopus0003 e Tux10, questa versione del Burg-manager presenta una lunga serie di novità. Oltre ad aver fixato alcuni bug riscontrati, sono state aggiunte nuove funzionalità oltre ad aver migliorato delle funzionalità preesistenti. Fra le modifiche degne di nota possiamo citare:

• riconoscimento degli hard disk disponibili in cui poter installare il Burg
• riconoscimento degli hardi disk disponibili in cui poter ripristinare il Grub2
• possibilità di impostare il sistema operativo da bootare come predefinito
• migliorata la galleria con i temi installabili sempre tramite questo sito
• aggiunta la scheda per settare i parametri avanzati come:
  • GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_RECOVERY

Vi ricordo in oltre che stiamo iniziando a sviluppare anche un porting del Burg-manager in gambas. A tal proposito serve maggiore collaborazione. Se sapete programmare in gambas potete prendere in considerazione la possibilità di partecipare attivamente a questo progetto.

Burg-Manager, by Ingalex &  Canopus0003, is a BUC-based program. The aim is an easy management of the BURG boot-loader through a simple and intuitive GUI, with no need to use terminal commands.

This user-friendly release allows to:

-install Burg, Burg-themes and a Burg emulator

-set timeout

-set your favourite theme

-set the screen resolution

-add new themes by choosing them among the ones you can find on this site

-setting menuentries to boot some operating sistems directly from iso files.

If you want to work with Burg-Manager, you have to install BUC from:

• repository
• debian packages
• compiling sources
  

Once you have installed BUC, download the debian package of burg-manager for your architecture.

Then you can install Burg-Manager on your pc:

sudo dpkg -i burg-manager*

You will find burg-manager in applications>system

Obviously as you can see the project is still in an “embryonic” state, therefore I’m not be responsible for any problem resulting from the burg-manager.

Install burg-manager from repository

It’s possible to install and update burg-manager directly from repository. To do this, follow these steps:

Add this line to the file /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://www.sourceslist.eu/repo/ubuntu lucid main non-free

To do this you can execute from command line:

echo "deb http://www.sourceslist.eu/repo/ubuntu lucid main non-free" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list

Then you have to add gpg key executing:

sudo gpg --keyserver hkp://pgp.mit.edu --recv-keys FA088BA5 && sudo gpg --armor --export FA088BA5 | sudo apt-key add ->

or:

wget http://www.sourceslist.eu/?download=public.key -O- | sudo apt-key add -

then you can install burg-manager executing:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install burg-manager
